Four year old Iowan shoots father, father faces chargesPosted: March 3, 2012
I accept and begrudgingly respect the 2nd amendment. I’ve even visited the NRA’s National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, VA–although I sure as heck didn’t donate or buy anything in their gift shop. But folks, if you’re going to exercise your second amendment freedoms, please do so at a safe distance from your young children.
Iowa dad shot by 4-year-old son faces charges from the Des Moines Register, Mar. 3, 2012
A Mason City man who was accidentally shot in the leg by his 4-year-old son earlier this week is now facing charges.
KIMT reports that police ticketed 29-year-old Christopher Upenieks (OOP-in-icks) for child endangerment and allowing a minor access to a loaded firearm. Both charges are misdemeanors.
Upenieks was shot Monday when his son found an unsecured handgun in his dad’s truck and the gun fired.
