This unusually warm weather could cause serious issues for Iowa’s fruit farms.
Fruit trees around the state are developing much earlier than normal, and some of the fruit may soon bloom. This is an issue because once it blooms, freezing temperatures can damage or destroy the fruit.
Iowa nights sometimes reach freezing temperatures even in early May.
